Reverorum ib Malacht, a duo consisting of former Emit members have released their debut album in the past couple of months through Ajna.

It is truly a monument of bizarre reverbed into the distance black metal! Imagine Catholic monks performing ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ and you may have some idea…

It’s only available on limited LP format but comes with a CD version enclosed as well. Here’s the label description: As uneven and dissonant, murky and obscure as The Old God cassette.
One of the founders of this projects came from the Swedish underworld and participated in such acts as Dodfodd, Ofermod and Emit.

”The third full-length album of Reuerorum ib Malacht, URKAOS, was recorded last summer (2006) at Viken outside of Torsång, Dalecarlia, as well as in Torsångs K:a, The Church of Torsång. The original recording consists of ca: 80 minutes of music, of which 20 minutes is a lengthy outro. The main part of the release is in the same vein as The Old God, yet more in the legendary vein of the 1350′s Catholic Black Metal tradition.

/… all sung parts on URKAOS are writings and excerpts found within the legendary 1350′s Catholic tradition. I.e. e.g. Vulgata, Confessiones, Officium Parvum Beate Marie Virginis, Nichodemi Ewangelium.”
